Shirley Marion (Collie) Terrell

"Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning". 

Shirley Marion Terrell passed away while a patient at Carilion Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia, on Saturday, November 29, 2025 where she had been in declining health for several months. 

Shirley was born on November 17th, 1954, the daughter of Henrietta Oram Moore and Arnold J. Moore Sr., who preceded her death. 

Shirley lived most of her life Pittsylvania County where she was a homemaker. She was married to the late David Terrell Sr. 

Those left to cherish her memory include her son Adam Cobb (Kristian), her bonus children Angela East, Carolyn Jarrett (Rusty) and David Terrell Jr. (Vickie), eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren and three sisters: Lawana Jones, Mary Archer (Bruce) and Sherry Smith (Andy).  In addition to her parents and husband,  she was preceded in death by her son Lawrence Cobb III, one grandson Matthew David Cobb, a granddaughter Marion Elizabeth East, a brother Arnold J. Moore Jr. , a brother in law J.B. Jones and beloved dog Jose. 

In keeping with her wishes there will be no formal service or visitation. A graveside memorial may be held by the family in the spring.
